Omak Head Start
Welcome to the Omak Head Start program. The Omak Head Start program is located in a historic landmark known as St. Mary’s Mission; a Jesuit mission boarding school established in 1896. The Head Start Classrooms are located within the Colville Confederated Tribe's Paschal Sherman Indian School. The school grounds are surrounded by beautiful rocky cliffs, alongside Omak Creek, and only miles from the magnificent Omak Lake. The Omak Head Start program serves 40 children ages three to five. The Omak Head Start staff had been part of the nselxcin language intensive program funded by the Potlatch Fund, inspiring them to strive toward a modified immersion language program for the children. Teachers have demonstrated great enthusiasm for the revitalization of our tribal languages and culture.
