The Cecelia Somday Education Fund was originated from Ms. Cecelia Somday the first year and the Colville Tribe to fund the program with tribal revenues. The current maximum scholarship available for the fund is $2000 per year. Scholarships, contingent upon funding, are awarded to enrolled Colville Tribal members each year. This scholarship can be applied for more than once. Primary eligibility: applicants must be an enrolled Colville Tribal ember and have achieved a 3.0 grade point average for each of your last three quarters or last two semesters of school (high school or college). Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation with the application. Incomplete and/or late applications packets will be deemed ineligible. Deadline is April 1st.
Who Can Apply?
Any enrolled member of the Colville Confederated Tribes with a minimum 3.0 grade point average in the past three terms of high school or college can apply for the scholarship.
How Are Recipients Chosen?
We are looking for a well rounded student leader with strong involvement in school and community activities with above average grades. The applicant should have a desire to have a positive future impact in the Colville tribe.
An education committee made up of representatives of the four reservation districts, Inchelium, Keller, Omak, and Nespelem, a teacher/education guidance counselor, and a student representative will select qualified candidates.

- Current high school or college transcript. Note: The Education staff is not responsible for attaching transcripts for current students.
