Somday Scholarship Application

By completing this scholarship application, you are applying for the Cecelia Somday Education Fund, which originated from Ms. Cecelia Somday’s probate in the first year, and the Colville Tribes have continued to fund this merit scholarship program with tribal revenues. The current maximum scholarship available from the fund is $2,000 per academic year for enrolled Colville Tribal members. This Scholarship can be applied for more than once.

APPLICATION OPEN: January 1st, 2026

2026 EXTENDED DEADLINE: May 1st, 2026

Late or incomplete applications will be deemed ineligible.

Primary eligibility: 1) Applicant must be an enrolled Colville Tribal member. 2) Applicant must have achieved a 3.0 G.P.A for each of their last three terms of school. 3) Applicant must provide two letters of recommendation, not written by family. Recommendation letters may be uploaded upon submission, or they can be emailed to kayce.palmer.adm@colvilletribes.com by the deadline at midnight.

All fields and uploads must be filled with the accompanying information to be considered complete. This form does not save the information as it is entered. We suggest applicants prepare an e-file containing their most recent transcript(s) and personal statement so that once they’re ready to submit, it’s a simplified process.

This is a competitive scholarship; therefore, applicants are encouraged to put forth maximum effort in writing their personal statement and in selecting their recommenders to build a cohesive and strong application.

Applicants can expect a decision notice by June 2026.

Scholarship awards are for the 2026-2027 Academic Year and will be awarded in August 2026. Students will be asked to submit a fall term schedule to confirm acceptance of the scholarship award.
